FAGE Laboratory

All the current field FAGE instruments began life in the FAGE laboratory. And often the instruments are brought back into the lab, between fieldwork, for developmental or characterisation work.

FAGE Lab

Two new field instruments are currently being developed in the lab, namely a FAGE RO2 instrument for detection of total peroxy radicals (partially speciated) and a sodium dimer instrument, that will be able to provide an alternative OH detection method.

Laboratory experiments to measure aerosol uptake kinetics of HO2, providing valuable information for modelling atmospheric HO2 behaviour, are currently in progress in the group using an aerosol flow tube.

Chamber experiments are also being conducted at Leeds. These experiments provide an important link between the field measurements and kinetic studies.

Please follow the relevant links for further information on these projects.
