Troposphere

The troposphere is the lowermost layer of the earth's atmosphere. It extends to about 17 km at the equator and to about 7 km at the poles. This is the region in which most human activities take place. Any changes in this region can affect mankind directly. Hence it is necessary to understand this layer in detail. At Leeds we try to answer some questions about the chemistry in this layer.

Our activities include field experiments, laboratory experiments and some modelling to finally intrepret all the field and laboratory measurements. Please find the links to the individual pages on the left of this page, which will direct you to more information on each of the individual experiments.
